Paul A. Brathwaite (MPP ’93, JD ’96) Principal, The Podesta Group, Washington, D.C.

In 2007, Brathwaite joined the Podesta Group, a bipartisan government relations and public affairs group, after serving as the executive director for the Congressional Black Caucus, where he coordinated all domestic and foreign policy legislative initiatives. Brathwaite provides strategic counsel to clients on telecommunications, health care, financial services and transportation policy matters. Prior to joining the Caucus in January 2001, Brathwaite was the deputy assistant secretary of labor for the Employment Standards Administration at the U.S. Department of Labor during the Clinton Administration.

His other professional experience includes working in the Department of Transportation’s General Counsel’s Honors Program for then-U.S. Rep. Tom Carper (D-DE) and U.S. Rep. Mike Castle (R-DE) and for former New York Governor Mario Cuomo.
