Robert S. Fleischer (AB ’64), Managing Director, Banc of America Securities, New York, N.Y.

Fleischer is a managing director in the Financial Institutions Group, Investment Banking, at Banc of America Securities LLC. In that capacity, he advises insurance companies on mergers and acquisitions and assists them in raising capital. Prior to joining Banc of America in April 2005, he was a managing director at Credit Suisse First Boston, which he joined in 2000 as a result of the merger of Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette into Credit Suisse. At both Credit Suisse and DLJ, which he joined in 1978, Fleischer focused primarily on the insurance sector. From 1974-76, Fleischer was president of the Duke University Metropolitan Alumni Association (now called the Duke Club NY). He and his wife Susan Raanan, live in New York and have two children, Matthew, who graduated from Vanderbilt in May 2006, and Victoria (’10), who is a student at Duke.
