Mark Bolognesi Florian (AB ’80), Chief Operating Officer, Municipal Finance and Infrastructure Group Goldman, Sachs & Co., New York, N.Y.
Florian is the chief operating officer of Goldman Sachs’ municipal finance
and infrastructure group and manages its North American infrastructure investment
banking business. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1985 and has worked in the public
finance, health care, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions groups
within the firm. Florian was the City of Chicago’s advisor in its $1.8
billion sale of the Chicago Skyway toll bridge in 2005. In addition, he advised
the state of Indiana on the sale of a 75-year concession in the Indiana toll
road for $3.85 billion. He has advised clients in merger transactions totaling
over $25 billion, primarily for infrastructure assets and industrial companies.
Florian has led the firm’s efforts with over $35 billion in financing
and derivative transactions for clients. He earned an MBA in finance from the
University of Chicago in 1982, and graduated magna cum laude, in computer
science and economics, from Duke. Florian is a Duke parent (Claire, ’09).
