Deborah and William Harlan, Oakville, Calif.

The Harlans are both native Californians, and live in Napa Valley with their daughter Amanda. They are the proprietors of Harlan Estate, a winegrowing property in the hills overlooking Oakville, Napa Valley. Most recently, Mr. Harlan founded The Napa Valley Reserve, a private winegrowing estate for members. He also is co-founder and chairman of Pacific Union Co., a diversified real estate firm in San Francisco. The company has a 30-year history of investment, development, retail, residential, special/mixed use and hospitality properties, including Meadowood, Napa Valley. The Harlans attended the University of California, Los Angeles and University of California, Berkeley, respectively. They are Duke parents (Will, ’09).
