David J. Kapnick (AB ’76), Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer, Newbury Ventures, Orinda, Calif.

Kapnick heads finance and administration for Newbury Ventures, an international venture capital group focused on investing in and growing entrepreneurial companies in the communication and information technology sectors. He has particular interests in the area of gun control and school violence and serves on the board of directors of Legal Community Against Violence. He studied management science and psychology at Duke before earning his MBA at the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College. Kapnick is also a Duke parent (Daniel, ’08).
