Rachel McLaughlin (Ex-officio), Fenton, Mo.

McLaughlin is a Duke senior and president of the Public Policy Majors Union. Her public policy interests include nonprofit/philanthropy, campaign politics and social policy. She has spent two summers working in public policy-related fields. In 2006, she worked for the nonprofit National Student Partnerships, splitting her time between the local office in Durham, N.C., and the national office in Washington, D.C. In 2007, she was a summer analyst at the consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, where she worked on projects within the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Energy. McLaughlin is presiding officer of the Baldwin Scholars Program, a resident assistant, an a cappella singer and a columnist for the Duke student newspaper, The Chronicle.
