Susan Roth, PhD (Ex-Officio), Vice Provost for Interdisciplinary Affairs, Duke University, Durham, N.C.
Currently
the Vice Provost for Interdisciplinary Affairs at Duke, Roth came to the university
in 1973 as an assistant professor in psychology. She served as chair of that
department from 1999-2002. Roth holds secondary appointments in the Department
of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Women’s Studies Program,
and is a licensed therapist in the state of North Carolina.
Roth’s scholarly publications have focused on the process of coping with traumatic life events. She has served as president of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She chaired the executive committee of Duke’s Women’s Initiative and the Provost’s Women’s Faculty Development Task Force. A native of New York City, Roth earned a B.A. from Barnard College (’70) and received her doctorate in psychology from Northwestern University (’73).
