James F. Wickett, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, Macrovision Corporation, Santa Clara, Calif.
Wickett
joined Macrovision as executive vice president of corporate development in
February 2004. He is responsible for spearheading Macrovision’s intellectual
property licensing, strategic partnering and acquisition strategies to expand
the company’s offerings in digital rights management and software licensing
solutions for the entertainment and software businesses. Wickett has more than
25 years of investment and operational management experience in the fields
of enterprise software, Internet services and media.
Before joining Macrovision, Wickett was a consultant to the entertainment and computer industries, helping independent producers and venture-backed companies. Wickett has also served as a general partner in Bay Partners, an early-stage venture fund, and was senior vice president for worldwide business development at PointCast Inc., an Internet and Intranet news broadcast company. Prior to PointCast, he was chief operating officer for Rocket Science Games Inc. and negotiated a number of significant technology, intellectual property and worldwide distribution licenses, positioning the company for acquisition by Sega. Wickett has served as a member of the boards of directors for nine companies. He currently serves on the board of Audubon California. He attended Menlo College and San Mateo Law School and has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1979. Wickett and his wife, Magdalena Yesil, are Duke parents (Justin, ’10).
