"One of the most valuable skills I gained through [PIDP] was the ability to effectively present controversial and sensitive issues. Since I come from a small Latin American country, [PIDP] was my first exposure to people from all over the world—different accents, different dresses, cultures, religions, traditions, needs, and life. After all these years, this is still the most effective training I received for my current position, working for the UN system, as one of the pre-requisites in all vacancies is the ability to relate with different cultures and environments. Because of the diversity of PIDP, I am able to do this."

Degree Programs
DCID hosts a unique graduate program focused on providing a rigorous, multidisciplinary course of study to mid-career professionals from around the world who aim to further their careers in international development. Our approach in the classroom combines theory and practice, making extensive use of our faculty’s rich experience in international development. We rely heavily on participative discussions and seminars, and encourage our fellows to share their knowledge and experiences with their peers. Classroom learning is enhanced by a summer internship where fellows may work on development projects administered by international organizations, international NGOs, think tanks, or consulting firms in the U.S. and abroad. We hope you will decide to apply to the Program in International Development Policy (PIDP) or its sub-program, the International Taxation Program (ITP), and that someday soon, we will welcome you as a new member of our world-wide community of scholars and practitioners.
