Stephanie Helms

Dr. Stephanie M. Helms has served in the field of higher education for 12 years in a variety of capacities, including residence life, commuter life, orientation, multicultural affairs, international student support, disability services, NCATE accreditation, and academic support services. Her experience has spanned historically Black, historically White, public and private institutions of higher education. She holds a B.A. in Radio & Television Broadcasting from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale ; and a MEd and EdD in Higher Education Administration from North Carolina State University . Her research interests include: cultural competency, equity, access, retention, leadership and scholarship in teaching and learning. Dr. Helms is the Director of Assessment & Professional Development Programs at Duke University .
