The mission of the Hart Leadership Program is to help Duke undergraduates become engaged citizens in a democratic society.

By combining rigorous academic study with community-based service experiences, we challenge our students to recognize and embrace their leadership potential.

Our interdisciplinary faculty of scholars, practitioners, artists and activists combine diverse methodologies -- traditional coursework, research, case studies, oral history, documentary writing and photography -- to create a program of leadership education that is at the forefront of innovations in higher education.
