Laura Nickelhoff
Program Assistant

Laura Nickelhoff is in her second year as an assistant with the Hart Leadership Program. Laura grew up in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and she relishes the cold Midwestern winters there. When at home, she’s an avid snowboarder and misses the snow when in Duke’s milder climate. With snowboarding is not an option in Durham, Laura opted for the pool instead—she is an avid member of the club swim team and practices regularly.

As a sophomore, Laura has not yet settled on a major, so she’s taking advantage of the freedom that entails. She’s currently trying out classes from all corners of Duke’s course catalog this semester, studying everything from legal history to dinosaurs to modern architecture. She devotes much of her free time to her favorite activity, reading, and she especially loves Catch-22 and the works of John Steinbeck.
