Life of Colin Powell,” is the most in-depth look at the former

officials in the lead-up to the United States’ 2003 invasion.
“[Powell] was repeatedly humiliated, his advice was ignored
and he knew he was the odd man out in the Bush administration,”
DeYoung said.
She also criticized the Bush administration for moving too quickly
too war, noting that it asked “all the wrong questions”
about Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction—which turned
out not to exist. DeYoung concluded her talk by discussing Powell’s
legacy.
“Over the long term, I think he’s likely to be remembered
as the man who on several occasions had the opportunity to change
the course of history and decided not to,” DeYoung said.
DeYoung’s appearance was sponsored by the Hart
LeadershipProgram and the Regulator Bookshop. Read more about
it at www.dukechronicle.com,
