The Realities of Kilimanjaro
I held my breath as a cloud of dust enveloped me, compliments of a flashy four-wheel drive vehicle. "Thanks," I muttered to the back of the vehicle. Tired and drenched in sweat, I was unable to distinguish whether the main source of my irritation was the driver's insensitivity, the major drought contributing to this unbearable dustiness and unrelenting heat, or the lack of tomatoes at the local fruit vendor I had just passed, precluding my hopeso f fresh pasta sauce for dinner. On top of everything else, I felt distressed that the graphis I had just completed at work at KIWAKKUKI convinced me that despite ample health education, change of risky behavior with regards to HIV/AIDS had yet to be accomplished in the Kilimanjaro Region.
