Learning Resources for Students

One learning resource website, that of the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research, has many publications available in English in the area of longevity and aging. For online books, see the Odense Monographs on Population Aging.

Many refereed journals are now available at no cost on the web. James Vaupel is publisher of the open access journal Demographic Research. For a list of other e-journals and many other resources, go to the Internet Guide to Demography and Population Studies (from Australia) or the World Wide Web of Demography (from the Netherlands).

Other resources include guides to universities with courses in demography.. One web resource is GradSchools.com. There are two schools not yet mentioned in the standard lists - one is the European Doctoral School of Demography and the other is the International Max Planck Research School for Demography.

Finally you might like to take a look at the Population Association of America's list of links and also their website. To learn about current issues in demography, attending a PAA meeting or at least browsing a meeting program, both rank as highly time effective learning activities. Also consider joining the IUSSP.
