Professional Groups
The American Political Science Association is the leading professional organization for the study of political science and serves more than 15,000 members in more than 80 countries. APSA publishes the scholarly journals American Political Science Review, Perspectives on Politics, and PS: Political Science & Politics.
The Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management is a membership organization dedicated to improving public policy and management by fostering excellence in research, analysis and education. It was formally created by representatives of 15 policy schools and research institutes at a May 1979 conference at Duke University. APPAM organizes annual conferences, honors scholarly achievement in the discipline with several annual awards and publishes the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management. Student participation is welcomed.
The Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA) comprises 29 member schools in the United States, Asia and Europe. APSIA members work to promote excellence in professional, international affairs education worldwide by sharing information and ideas among member schools, other higher education institutions, the international affairs community and the general public. APSIA.org serves as a clearinghouse of information for prospective students and employers.
The National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration is the membership association of graduate programs in public administration, public policy and public affairs. NASPAA's Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation is the specialized accreditor of those master degree programs. NASPAA publishes the Journal of Public Affairs Education.
